IUTOX and EUROTOX are delighted to announce the following presentation awards at ICT 2022:
  • IUTOX Trainee Awards
  • EUROTOX Gerhard Zbinden Early Career Award
  • ECETOC Christa Hennes Early Career Award
  • Alfonso Lostia Early Career Award
  • ESTIV Best Poster Award

IUTOX Trainee Awards

The International Congress of Toxicology IUTOX Trainee Awards will be given to authors of the three best posters. The awards are endowed with $500, $300 and $100. These posters will be selected from among all submitters who have registered as a student and provided the appropriate proof.

EUROTOX Early Career Awards (ECA)

The EUROTOX Early Career Award comprises three categories:

EUROTOX Gerhard-Zbinden Award (EUR 2,000)
for drug-oriented toxicological research
  • The winner will receive 1,000 EUR and a certificate.
  • The winner may use the remaining 1,000 EUR to cover expenses (hotel, accommodation, transfer, etc.) to attend the successive congress edition (2023 Ljubljana congress) and the registration fee will be waived.

ECETOC Christa Hennes Award (EUR 2,000)

for toxicological research into mechanisms and risk assessment
  • The winner will receive 1,000 EUR and a certificate.
  • The winner may use the remaining 1,000 EUR to cover expenses (hotel, accommodation, transfer, etc.) to attend the successive congress edition (2023 Ljubljana congress) and the registration fee will be waived.


Alfonso Lostia Poster Award on Food Safety

  • The 200 EUR prize and a certificate will be presented by EUROTOX during the closing ceremony to an early career scientist for research work in the field of Food Safety.


Award Condition for the three EUROTOX Early Career Awards
The first and presenting author must be under 35 years of age as of December 31, 2022.

Four criteria will be considered:
1. Originality and potential impact of the research project
2. Adequacy of the methodological approach adopted
3. Scientific value of the results
4. Care, quality and clarity of the presentation

An initial selection of finalists will be made by the evaluation panel based on a careful review of the abstracts, with final evaluation taking place at the congress site.

 ESTIV (The European Society for Toxicology in vitro) Best Poster Award

ESTIV

Description

ESTIV will grant a best poster award, including 500 EUR and 1 year (2023) free ESTIV membership, to a PhD student or young scientist (≤ 35 years old) presenting her/his research work in the field of in vitro or in silico toxicology per poster as first author during the ICT 2022 congress. The winner will be selected based on scientific excellence, innovation, and clarity of the poster presentation. Eligibility also includes presence during the closing ceremony of the ICT 2022congress, as the winner will be announced at this occasion.
To apply for the ESTIV Best Poster Award the following documents are required:

  • Curriculum Vitae
  • Supporting letter from the supervisor or the head of department

Interested parties can apply during the abstract submission.

Please note:

If delegates submit their abstract as a “Poster” or as a „Poster or Short Oral Communication“ and if they are not older than 35, they can apply for one of the following awards:

  • EUROTOX Gerhard Zbinden Early Career Award
  • ECETOC Christa Hennes Early Career Award
  • Alfonso Lostia Best Poster Award
  • ESTIV Best Poster Award

Furthermore, they can also apply for the IUTOX Trainee Award (if they are a student) and for a fellowship. If the abstract is selected as „Short Oral Communication“, the possible applications for a poster award (Alfonso Lostia Award, ESTIV Award, IUTOX Trainee Award) will not be considered. The winners will be selected by an evaluation panel and will be announced during the closing ceremony.
